Morning moo

The 7MSN is surrounded by cattle ranches. Whenever I leave, I try to remember my camera because you just never know what you might encounter. Here are a few more reasons why spring is my favorite time of year.

  1. Look at that little guy!

When we were out west we couldn't quite get used to the cattle wandering freely all over the roads, etc.

There is something quite charming about it. We were thrilled one day when we saw actual cowboys rounding some cattle up.

  2. I love meeting cows on the road. I just have to remember to factor in a 15-minute cow allowance whenever I have to be somewhere on time. Sometimes they'll move, sometimes they won't, and I hate beeping them out of my way.

  3. Your version of traffic! I'd rather wait for cows and 50 gazillion commuters any day.

  4. So. Do cows attack runners? Indeed they are VERY cute, but.... I'm in my marathon training and am scheduled for a 5 mile run on Saturday, 5/10, when we visit 7MSN. Will I have to hurdle cow piles? Evade wild rabbits? Will any of the herd keep me company on my run? Looking forward to our trip.

  5. Occasionally, the cows will attack me and Smooch on our walks, so if they're looking feisty, I pick up a couple of rocks to have handy. But I can chart you a 5-mile course that will avoid most of them. And Smooch would love to accompany you. Or Hank and I can come along. We're all about accommodating our guests. See you soon!
