One of my two cats insists on going blat-blat-blat-blat-blat-blat-blat-blat-blat-blat-blat-BLAT-BLAAAAAAAAT on the cat flap with his paw until it gets me SO MAD that I get up and open the door for him.

*ahem*. I'm also using a power chair now most of the time, and once she got over her apprehension of the strange apparatus (I would NEVER use the word "fear" regarding her!), she decided it could move out of her way. Dogs were domesticated by man, but cats chose to be with man to get mice and other critters that wanted grain, human food. I think that's the source of their independent natures. My cats always liked the freedom of coming in and out whenever they wanted and if I lived where it was warm I left the door open a bit. Not good if there are flies of course! Years ago I was able to get a screen thing I could put on the door frame that had a flap in it. Cats communicate with tails and ears. If I remember correctly, tail straight up is hello. Love visiting with you and the ranch hands!
